Chanel N°5 is on our list of all time classic perfumes. The fact it was released back in 1921 but still one of the most purchased perfumes today says a lot – it’s a timeless classic. Blended by Ernest Beaux, N°5 has top notes of Aldehydes, Neroli, Bergamot and Lemon. It’s heart notes of May Rose, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Iris and Lily of the Valley. At its base are notes of Cedarwood, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Amber, Vetiver, Musk, Vanilla, Civet, Patchouli and Ambergris.
The story goes that when Chanel approached Beaux to create a perfume, 10 were created and it was N°5 that was chosen, and so the story began….
